Modugula blames Congress for LS fracas HYDERABAD: Narasaraopet TDP MP Modugula Venugopala Reddy, who was suspended from the Lok Sabha for allegedly brandishing a 'knife' in the House, termed the suspension of MPs from Andhra Pradesh as 'undemocratic' and demanded that the Speaker revoke their suspension.
Speaking to reporters in Delhi, Venugopal Reddy blamed the Congress for the mess. 'Congress is responsible for yesterday's incident. We were just opposing the introduction of the T-bill. The Congress knowingly provoked the members and introduced the bill in the House in an undemocratic manner leading to scuffle,' he said.
He also found fault with Speaker Meira Kumar for suspending the MPs of the state and said her action was unconstitutional and unwarranted. 'The Speaker should be blamed for the situation in the House. Had she introduced the bill in a proper manner, all this would not have happened,' he said.
He said opposition leaders are saying that the bill was not tabled in the House, but still she claims that it was introduce. 'The Speaker has no respect for opposition parties,' he alleged. He urged the Speaker to reintroduce the bill in the House.
He said he would meet leaders of all the national parties and complain against the Speaker. Coming down heavily on YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, he said that Jagan, who claims that he is the champion of Samikyandhra, did not came to his rescue.
