Naidu rethinks on tie-up with BJP HYDERABAD: With Telangana statehood becoming imminent and the BJP's position in the state becoming weak, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is having second thoughts of forging alliance with BJP in the ensuing elections and has dropped enough hints that his party will go it alone.
Speaking to reporters here, Naidu said: 'Right now I am not thinking of alliance with any party. It is not the right time to talk about it. I will go by people's mood and views. Let's wait and see'.
He said as the division of the state looks imminent his first priority will be to see that the people of both the states do not suffer due to division. 'With changing situation we are also planning to change our strategy for the ensuing poll and also future programmes,' hesaid.
Replying to a question, Naidu said that he had no intention to stake a claim to form government in the state. 'We do not have numbers to form government. Moreover, I would like to form a government through people's mandate and not through support from parties,' he remarked.
'The governor had called me and informed that chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had submitted his resignation. I told the governor to act as per the Constitution,' he said.
'I will be soon going to the people and explain to them in what circumstances the state was being divided and how Congress, TRS and YSR Congress colluded with each other in dividing the state. I will expose those who were behind the division of the state,' he remarked.
'For electoral benefit Sonia is dividing the Telugu people. I tried my best to stop the bifurcation process and met all the leaders of national parties but unfortunately they were not able to stop it,' he said.
Disappointed with BJP, Naidu said that the principal opposition party had let the Telugu people down and has become party to the injustice.
