Amaravati to be developed as a growth engine for Andhra Pradesh:CM BITS Pilani Amaravati campus to start admissions from 2027
Amaravati:Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to develop Amaravati as a major economic hub and growth engine for Andhra Pradesh.
Chairing the 60th meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority, the Chief Minister emphasised that all capital city constructions must reflect Telugu culture and traditions.
The Chief Minister instructed officials to accelerate infrastructure development in the capital region including construction of an iconic bridge across the Krishna River connecting Amaravati with Vijayawada. He said that government buildings, including the Assembly should provide a world-class visitor experience. He also stressed that all government offices should feature innovative designs and be optimally utilised.

A dedicated financial district will house banks and financial institutions.He further proposed cooling systems for large buildings, Utility corridors (ducts) for water, electricity and gas supply.
The 60th CRDA meeting approved several major projects including Rs 1,208.41 crore for Twin Towers in Quantum Valley, Rs 2,540 crore for Secretariat , GAD and HOD towers works and Rs 798 crore for civil works in the Assembly building.
BITS Pilani Amaravati campus
Representatives of Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani met the Chief Minister and briefed him on the progress of their Amaravati campus.
They informed the Chief Minister that admissions will commence from 2027 academic year. They said with an investment of Rs 250 crore the campus will be built in three phases with a capacity for 10,000 students. The Chief Minister suggested promoting startups in quantum technology through the campus.
