The vessel, measuring 292 metres in length and 45 metres in beam with a draft of 12.2 metres, arrived carrying 1,00,198 MT of cargo.
With this, VPA now has more than one Cape-compliant berth, significantly enhancing its capacity to handle large bulk carriers and boosting overall cargo throughput.
VPA Secretary M. Sankar Babu in a release on Saturday said the successful berthing was made possible under the guidance of Chairperson Jasmeet Singh Bindra and Deputy Chairperson Roshni Aparanji Korati, along with the coordinated efforts of Team VPA. He added that the achievement reflects the port's continued commitment to improving operational efficiency to meet the growing demands of maritime trade.

Visakhapatnam Port also observed World Environment Day 2026 with a plantation programme held on the port premises. Chairperson J.S. Bindra attended as chief guest and planted saplings at the Port Fire Office area.

Chief Vigilance Officer Arun Prasad T, heads of departments, senior officials, employees, and other stakeholders participated in large numbers, reaffirming their commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.
As part of the celebrations, VPA also distributed saplings to various government institutions across Visakhapatnam and to the general public at Port Stadium, Beach Road, and other prominent public locations to promote environmental awareness and encourage green initiatives.
