NTR bronze statue unveiled at Maitrivanam Hyderabad: A 23-foot bronze statue of Telugu Desam Party founder and former chief minister of united Andhra Pradesh Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao was unveiled amid much fanfare at the Maitrivanam junction in Ameerpet on Thursday by Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, fulfilling a promise he made during the Jubilee Hills by-election campaign.

The statue, installed in the heart of the city, marks a long-pending demand of NTR's fans in Hyderabad. Revanth Reddy had pledged during the Jubilee Hills campaign that a statue of NTR would be installed. Keeping his word, the Chief Minister commissioned the statue and unveiled it at a grand event.
Local MLA Naveen Yadav played a key role in the installation process. He coordinated with officials and personally supervised the statue erection work. The event drew a large gathering of public representatives, senior officials, and thousands of NTR fans. Nandamuri admirers and Telugu people expressed joy at the unveiling of the massive statue in the city center.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy hailed NTR as a great leader who instilled political and social consciousness in people and took Telugu self-respect to the world stage. 'NTR is one of the greatest leaders that India can be proud of,' he said.
The Chief Minister said the nation must always remember three leaders who changed the course of Indian history and democracy: Dr. B R Ambedkar, Indira Gandhi, and NTR. He described them as the 'Jatiratnalu' or jewels of the nation, adding that their revolutionary decisions put India on the path of progress.
'We must remember Ambedkar every moment. He was the architect of the Constitution who gave even the most marginalised common man the power to change a ruler through the right to vote,' Revanth Reddy said.
Recalling NTR's legacy, he described him as a leader of ethics, honesty, and commitment who rose above caste, religion, and language. He said the statue would inspire future generations and noted that many Telangana leaders received political opportunities through NTR.
The Chief Minister also said Hyderabad's development is progressing rapidly and reaffirmed the government's commitment to transforming the city into a global destination. He added that the ideals of Indiramma and NTR continue to guide the government's people-centric governance and welfare initiatives.
