AP CM visits fisherman's home Kavali: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu made an unscripted and personal connection with the state's coastal community on Tuesday, visiting a fisherman's home in Tummalapenta village, Kavali mandal, Nellore district, where he shared a traditional home-cooked meal seated on the floor alongside the family.

The visit followed the Chief Minister's participation in the 'Matsyakarula Sevalo' programme in Kavali constituency. He stopped at the local fish market in Tummalapenta, where he spoke directly with fishermen, women vendors and coastal traders, purchasing fresh fish himself and listening to concerns about livelihoods, fishing practices and market conditions.
Local fisherman Thanamgari Babu and his son Giri received the Chief Minister at the market. During their conversation, Babu highlighted the economic hardship that coastal families endure during the annual fishing ban period and acknowledged that the ₹20,000 financial assistance provided under the 'Matsyakarula Sevalo' scheme had offered meaningful relief to families during the off-season.
Accepting a personal invitation from Babu, the Chief Minister later visited the family's home, where Babu's wife Venkamma prepared a traditional fish curry using the fish bought at the market. Naidu spent time in the kitchen, speaking informally with family members and briefly stirring the curry ' a moment that drew warmth from those present.
He also took time to speak with Venkamma's daughter, who had recently given birth, enquiring about the health of both mother and newborn.
When the meal was ready, the Chief Minister sat on the floor with the family and had lunch alongside them, personally serving fish curry to family members during the meal.
The visit concluded with photographs and expressions of gratitude from the family. Residents described the occasion as a genuine reflection of the Chief Minister's accessibility and his instinct to engage with ordinary people on their own terms.
