Lecturer 'kidnaps' 16 year old girl student HYDERABAD: A 36-year-old married lecturer allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old Intermediate first year student of the college where the lecturer is working. The incident took place at Gudimalkapur in Tappachabutra police limits.
It came to light after the victim's parents approached the police and lodged a complaint, though the incident took place two days ago. Police suspect that the lecturer lured the victim and might have been eloped with her. The accused is Kamal Rao who works in Sri Medha Junior College, Gudimalkapur. He is married with two kids.
Tappachabutra inspector Mohammad Riyazuddin said that they received a complaint from victim's parents who alleged that their daughter, an intermediate first year student of Srimedha Junior College, was kidnapped by Rao. 'We are investigating the case and tracking Rao's mobile number,' police said.
Police appealed that if anyone notices the person along with the girl, they must inform police. A police team visited the college and questioned classmates of the girl and college staff in connection with the incident.
The family members of Rao told police that he went to college on Feb 17 and did not return home. All their efforts to connect him through mobile phone went in vain, they added. Based on the complaint lodged by the girl's parents, police registered a case and took up investigation.
