Three girls of family burnt alive by kin NIZAMABAD: Three girls belonging to the same family were allegedly kidnapped and murdered in Nizamabad town on Wednesday night. The girls Siri (9), Akshaya (6) and Khushi (4) were granddaughters of Raghupathi Reddy, former mandal parishad president of Renjal mandal in Nizamabad district.
The girls, daughters of his three sons, were kidnapped, allegedly by their close relative Narender Reddy on Wednesday night.
Late in the night, Raghupathi got a call from Narender Reddy saying that he is killing the three girls and committing suicide. No ransom was demanded and no reason was given. Police were alerted and special teams were formed to trace the girls and the kidnapper.
But, on Thursday morning, police were alerted by some farmers that burnt bodies of three children were found near by-pass road on the outskirts of the town.
'The bodies were completely burnt and the killer might have poured petrol on them and set them ablaze. Complete details as to how they were murdered will be known after we get the postmortem report,' said Nizamabad DSP S Anil Kumar.
Meanwhile, police found a car abandoned on a bridge near Basar, which was suspected to be used by Narender Reddy. 'We are investigating whether he might have jumped from the bridge into the river. However, swimmers did not find any body so far,' the DSP said.
Narender Reddy, who is a close relative of the family, took the girls on the pretext of buying them ice cream. No one had suspected any foul play.
Nizmabad SP Tarun Joshi said special teams were formed to trace the kidnapper, whether he is alive or dead. A case was registered and investigation is on.
