Naidu to wait and watch for tie-up with BJP HYDERABAD: Highly disappointed over the BJP's attitude in the Parliament on the T-Bill issue, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu is planning to study the mood of the people of both the regions before entering into poll alliance with BJP.
Speaking to reporters here, Naidu though did not commit that he would not have alliance with BJP in the ensuing elections but dropped enough hints that he would get into alliance with the saffron party only after studying the mood of the people.
'My next move will be in the interest of nation and Telugu people. I will go to people and after knowing their views and feelings I will decide on poll alliance. For me the first priority will be the people of the state and then politics,' he said.
Naidu, who was not happy with the BJP leadership on handling of the state bifurcation issue, has now decided to adopt wait and watch policy on alliance with BJP.
'All the calculations of Congress has gone wrong and it will be finished in the state in the ensuing polls,' he remarked.
Criticising the Centre for making empty promises, Naidu said that there was no clarity in the proposal made by the Centre especially on financial packages. 'How do you expect the new state to develop a capital like Hyderabad in a period of 10 years. The Centre has not even told that how much money it would be giving for creation of new capital,' he said.
He said that the Centre has given assurance to bear the new state's deficit for only first financial year and it has not said anything about the future deficits. Similarly, there are issues of power, irrigation, education, employment and other major issues, regarding which the Centre has no clear plan, he said.
Even the residuary state will be given special category status only for five years, he said and added that how can the state develop in five years.
