Kiran to decide his future course tomorrow HYDERABAD: After resigning as chief minister, N Kiran Kumar Reddy has been confining himself to his Banajara Hills residence here and busy gauging the mood of the people of Seemandhra on his proposed political party. But, he is still keeping his aides guessing on his future political move.
Ever since he put in his papers, Kiran has been holding discussions with some of his aides either directly or over phone to arrive at a decision whether to float a party or not.
According to sources, a majority of whom the 'Samaikyandhra crusader' has consulted so far have advised him against floating a party on two counts: Samaikyandhra plank, on which Kiran's proposed party wants to bank, is irrelevant now. And, Kiran's personality is not suitable to lead a new party.
Even though a majority of his supporters are advising Kiran against floating a party, the caretaker chief minister is keen to float a political party on the presumption that people of Seemandhra do not trust Jagan of YSR Congress or Chandrababu Naidu of TDP, and there is a vacuum.
Some of his aides, who are from his own community, told him that his proposed party would only split the Reddy vote and help Naidu regain power. But Kiran dismissed the argument and sounded confident that Reddys would back him and YSRC would cut into the vote bank of the TDP.
Despite his high hopes, Kiran is hesitant to float a party as the number of his supporters is diminishing with each passing day.
Kiran, who asked his supporters such as Pithani Satyanarayana and K Parthasarathi to study the situation by touring their respective constituencies, plans to hold a brainstorming session with his supporters in the next couple of days to finalise his future course of action. He might take a decision by February 23.
Pithani Satyanarayana said that Kiran was planning to float a new political party on Feb 23. 'If Kiran launches a new party , I will join it along with my supporters,' he said.
