Congress, TRS vying to take Telangana credit HYDERABAD: Now that decks have been cleared for formation of Telangana state, the Congress and the TRS are vying with each other in owning the credit for the creation of the T state.
The T Congress leaders are going ahead to consolidate whatever gains the party has accrued in Telangana by organising a blitzkrieg campaign that it was their chief Sonia Gandhi who had delivered T state.
The Telangana Congress leaders on Friday met Sonia Gandhi and after thanking her profusely for creating Telangana state, invited her to Hyderabad and speak at a massive public meeting they want to organise soon.
While this is so, the TRS is also planning a major show of strength to celebrate the occasion of formation of Telangana state. The TRS leaders are planning to mobilise people from all the 10 Telangana districts and make it memorable event.
They want the public meeting to serve as an eloquent reminder that in Telangana, it is TRS which calls the shots. The party is making elaborate arrangements to receive KCR when he arrives in Hyderabad (date has not been decided).
They want him to lead a huge procession from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport to Telangana Martyrs Memorial at Gun Park where he would pay respects to them and dedicate the T victory to them.
