Naidu should apologise to Telugu people: YSRCP

Hyderabad, Feb 22 (INN): Demanding an unqualified apology from N Chadbrababu Naidu to the entire Telugu people for playing his part in the division of the state, YSR Congress has said that in Parliament both Congress and BJP have ganged up to pass the Telangana Bill in a hurry.

'Chandrababu Naidu stating that his party has become stronger in the Telangana shows that he had been in favour of the division and the TDP leader targeting YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is ridiculous.

It was Naidu who was equally responsible along with Congress and BJP in the bifurcation process while Jagan Mohan Reddy always stood for a united state,' party leader Dadi Veerabhadra Rao told reporters here on Saturday.

Naidu has been targeting Jagan all the time to divert the attention from his misdeeds. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on the other hand has been put in his best efforts to keep the state united and fought on every available plank.

TDP, which was formed by NTR to safeguard the pride of Telugu people, has failed in its fundamental principle and in maintaining its ideology. Naidu should apologise to the Telugu people for helping the Centre in dividing them.

While Seemandhra is on boil, Naidu's remarks that his party has strengthened in Telangana shows that the Telugu pride of NTR has been blown to smithereens.

Naidu terming that Jagan is happy due to the division is his imagination and shifting the blame as his statement that TDP has strengthened in Telangana shows who is happy with the division.

KCR is the creation of Naidu and he was the person who has given a letter in favour of the division. The TDP leader has at no point of time neither given any suggestions nor made a just demand or spoke for a united state but was all the time chanting the mantra of equal justice.

True to his preaching, his MPs were equally divided in the Parliament and spoke as per their regional feelings exposing that TDP has no clear policy on the issue, he said. Naidu joins the dubious club of Sonia Gandhi, Sushil Kumar Shinde and Sushma Swaraj being the core group that has axed the state into two.

Within 100 days of the death of YSR the issue of Telangana was taken up by the Congress and BJP played a supporting role and TDP went all out in favour of the division, he said.

The division was done in a very undemocratic manner with the ruling Congress and main Opposition BJP joining hands for political reasons.

Sushma Swaraj seeking her pound of flesh for supporting Telangana, Sonia Gandhi and Sushma Swaraj praising each other show that it is not the opinion of the Telugu people that counts but the political benefits that matter. It was these very Telugu people who were responsible for UPA to come to the power in 2004 and 2009, he said.

The package announced by the Centre is faulty and has no rhyme or reason. Nothing is said about the capital, where it would be and how much funding will come and the five year special status would be of no use as it takes longer period for setting up industries and building infrastructure.
