Damodara's wife Padmini eyes Sangareddy seat HYDERABAD: Making her intentions clear to join active politics and contest from Sangareddy constituency in Medak district, Padmini, wife of deputy chief minsiter Damodara Rajanarasimha, launched a broadside against Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy.
Addressing medipersons here, Padmini took exception to Jayaparakash Reddy's recent comments that he will get elected with one lakh votes majority and capture polling booths in the upcoming elections. How can a people's representative make such a comment, she asked.
She even played a video clipping of the Sangareddy MLA making the comment about booth capturing. 'How can the people of Telangana allow him to be their representative? Is it proper for him to make such a comment?' she demanded to know.
Padmini urged the people to take action against Jagga Reddy, as he is popularly known. 'I appeal to the people to take action against him. I had even written letters to the President, Governor, police chiefs and leaders of Congress, BJP and other parties to condemn such comments and initiate action against him,' she said.
Padmini, who congratulated her husband for his efforts in making the Telangana dream come true, said she is ready to join active politics as she wants to serve people better. 'I will contest from whereever people want me to,' she said.
However, she was not clear on how she could contest against Jagga Reddy, who is also from Congress party.
In the letter, copies of which were given to media, citing the law concerning 'booth capturing', she wanted the appropriate authority to bar Jagga Reddy from contesting elections. She also hit out at him for supporting Samaikyandra.
