 News: Headline News | Staff bifurcation process begins Hyderabad: The physical bifurcation of the State has begun on Tuesday with chief secretary PK Mohanty directing the heads of various departments to prepare modalities for the allotment of staff and to finalise sharing of other assets between the two States.
In a meeting held at the Secretariat with the principal secretaries of the departments, he told them that the notification with regard to the bifurcation would be issued in a day or two and directed them to be prepared for the exercise of physical distribution of the official machinery.He told the officials to form eight committees at State level and two committees would be formed by the Centre.
The Central committees would take care of the cadre posts and other posts' division and the state committees should take care of identifying the liabilities, infrastructure, personal affairs and other issues, he said.Mohanty said the process should be completed by appointed date to be announced by the Centre.
He said the official machinery for the both States should be in place by the appointed date.The heads of the department wanted the chief secretary to seek three months' time to complete the bifurcation process.
They informed that it takes that much time to make a proper distribution of the assets and manpower to ensure litigation free process.Finance department principal secretary PV Ramesh informed after the meeting that they had found about 50,000 employees for distribution between the two States.
He informed that the meetings would be conducted with the staff associations in finalizing the distribution fairly. The principal secretary said that finalizing the officials would take at least one month since they belong to various cadres.
The officials who participated in the meeting said that consensus was needed to finalise the distribution of manpower, assets and infrastructure. The meeting has decided to entrust the mapping of available buildings and infrastructure to prepare the inventory to the roads and building department.
The officials were told to prepare the copies of files related to common issues between the both states and of the long term matters.Meanwhile, Union Home department has asked the State government about the time needed for completing the division process.
They have reportedly asked the chief secretary whether it would be possible to complete it in eight days.The Centre has asked the chief secretary to come to Delhi on Wednesday to discuss the division process.
The chief secretary would inform the Union Home department on the time needed for the process and would suggest the appointed date.s the heads of departments have told the chief secretary that three months' time would be needed for a litigation free division, the latter might tell the same to the Central officials.
