CS Mohanty's term likely to be extended HYDERABAD: If sources are to be believed, the tenure of the chief secretary is likely to be extended, at least by three months. Mohanty's retires from service on Feb 28. However, his services will be continued for three months in the wake of division of the state.
As the chief secretary is acquainted with the state's administration and moreover with the division process till now, his tenure is likely to be extended.
Mohanty is going to Delhi to meet officials on Wednesday to discuss various issues relating to the state. The extension of his tenure will also figure in it.
In case of President's rule or new CM taking charge for united AP, Mohanty will be continued for some more time. In case the government decides to appoint new chief secretary, IYR Krishna Rao is in the forefront for the post.
