KCR gets a hero's welcome in Hyderabad Hyderabad, Feb 26 (INN): Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao was given a hero's welcome by thousands of supporters on his arrival to Hyderabad from New Delhi here on Wednesday.
The TRS chief reached the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamsabad at about 4 PM. He then came to old airport at Begumpet in a helicopter. Later, he was taken to Gun Park opposite Assembly building in a massive victory procession. Standing on a specially designed vehicle, KCR greeted the supporters with folded hands. He was accompanied with senior leaders including K Keshav Rao, G Vinod and others.
Thousands of TRS supporters celebrated the formation of Telangana amid beating of drums and songs. Women held Bathukamma en route the victory procession. Camels, horses and cultural artists from different parts of Telangana participated in the seven kilometre long procession.
The TRS supporters have painted the entire city pink, the colour of its flag. Huge cut-outs of KCR, hoardings, party flags, banners and other graffiti adorned the traffic intersections and the road from Begumpet Airport to Gun Park.
