Motkupalli leaning towards Congress HYDERABAD: TDP senior leader in Telangana, Motkupalli Narasimhulu, is understood to be contemplating to desert the yellow party for joining the Congress.
Narasimhulu, who has been not happy in the TDP ever since he was denied Rajya Sabha membership, is said to be seeking the advices of his supporters and well-wishers about his next political move, reportedly to become the member of the ruling party.
Though Narasimhulu so far had not openly acknowledged that he would quit the TDP, according to sources, some of the key leaders in the Telangana Congress such as K Jana Reddy are trying to persuade the AICC leadership for the entry of the TDP veteran into the ruling party.
As Congress leaders feel Narasimhulu's entry into the Congress would help the party to win over SCs in Telangana to some extent, the AICC leadership is said to be positively considering his intention to join the party.
In fact, after he failed to get Rajya Sabha seat from the TDP, he even went to the extent of saying that he did not see any reason why he should continue in the TDP. However, after repeated persuasion by Naidu, Narasimhulu had put off his plans to desert the party.
With polls round the corner political migrations from one party to another are increasing rapidly. For instance, on Friday two MLAs and one MLC of the TDP- KS Ratnam (Chevella) and P Mahender Reddy (Tandur), and P Narender Reddy- respectively joined the TRS.
According to sources, some Telangana Cong leaders are getting ready to desert their party only to join the TRS in the days to come. TRS leadership's latest signals that it will not join hands with the Congress in the ensuing polls are said to be forcing the ruling party's lawmakers to lean towards the pink party.
