News: Headline News | YSRCP asks TJAC to revoke its bandh call Hyderabad, March 2 (INN): Taking strong objection to the bandh call given by TJAC and other units on March 5 in wake of the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's visit to Khammam and has appealed to the Parties supporting it to revoke the decision as democracy permits political parties to carry out its electioneering in any region.
'TJAC and other district units of New Democracy and CPI calling for a bandh against the tour of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is undemocratic as political ideologies could differ but blocking someone's right to hold public meeting is against the spirit of democracy,' party spokesperson Gattu Ramachandra Rao told reporters here on Sunday.
YSR Congress believed that a united state would pave way for development and it is in favour of development of all regions. With election schedule coming up, it is for the people to decide and give a mandate but obstructing someone's freedom of expression and freedom to tour the state is unfair.
'I appeal to TJAC and others who have given the bandh call to review the decision as we are living in a democracy and there is no room for imposing such restrictions to any person or a political party President even if opinions differ.
There are other Parties that have supported a united state and there are parties like TDP and Congress and Lok Satta that have no clarity on stand and have extended support to both regions. 'Our view is very clear and we are for development of all regions.
There has been talk that Telangana would slip into the hands of feudal lords and such bandh calls will vouch for such apprehensions. Every Party has a right to express its view openly and tour any part of the state and such units trying to obstruct the meetings are not in good taste.
'I once again appeal to TJAC and others to revoke their bandh call in the better interest of the democratic values,' he said.
