News: Headline News | Leaders joining TDP as last option: YSRCP Hyderabad, March 6 (INN): Ridiculing the claim of TDP that there is influx from Congress into the Party ahead of the general elections, YSR Congress has said that only those leaders who have been rejected by it are moving to another sinking boat.
'N Chandrababu Naidu inciting Congress leaders and pacifying local cadre not to object to their entry into TDP only shows the bankruptcy of ideology and the blankness staring at the future of the Party.
People are with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and he is with the people which has been baffling Congress and TDP to the hilt,' party official spokesperson Jupudi Prabhakar said here on Thursday.
Congress and TDP have been working in tandem ever since the death of YSR. They have ganged up in MLC elections, by-elections on various other issues but could draw a near naught.
While YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was in jail YSRCP has won 15 of the 18 by-elections and the unholy nexus of the two parties could manage a couple of seats with great difficulty.
TDP inciting Congress leaders before the general elections will only get the people the party deserves as it is destined to be routed for the third time in a row. Chandrababu Naidu only wanted to increase his voting percentage to a certain extent as it has drastically fallen after he took over the reins form NTR in a bloodless coup.
'Naidu asking his cadre not to object any of the Congress leaders switching sides only shows how desperate he is and the leaders knocking at TDP doors are all rejected by YSRPC. They only wanted political survival and are prepared to move to any party that has vacancies irrespective of the poll prospects.
This is another example of the tie-up of Congress and TDP. Naidu accusing that our Party has a tacit understanding with Congress is proved wrong and one has to wait and see if Naidu, who started his career as a Congress leader, is heading towards the parent party merging TDP with Congress,' he said adding that the TDP leader is engineering defections not to strengthen the Party but his gambit is only to increase the voting percentage, People are averse to the gimmicks of Congress and TDP and are waiting to teach both the parties a lesson by giving a thumping verdict to YSRCP. Naidu and Congress lost every election after the death of YSR and this time it would be no different, he said.
The TDP leader is trying to stand as a definition to development and has been promising to convert Seemandhra into Singapore. He speaks of Hi-Tech city for which he is facing allegations of receiving kickbacks and people of Seemandhra do not want such things to repeat.
Singapore has no agriculture and Naidu with his anti-farmer stance will be rejected in the region which is considered to be the rice bowl of the country.
Naidu in his nine year term and also during the NTR period had played an important role in governance but people were never happy with his policy decisions as there was no development and economy has retrograded in Seemandhra and Telangana as well.
Taking a dig at former Union Minister D Purandeswari, he said, 'The daughter of NTR has been an opportunist. She sided with Naidu when NTR was overthrown and is now joining BJP which has helped Congress in the division of the State.
YSRCP, unlike other parties is very systematic and has clear policy and is closer to the people and YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has been well received at every place and the success of Khammam meeting shows that the Party has strong moorings in Telangana.
