MP Ananta joins YSR Congress HYDERABAD: Anantapur MP Ananta Venkatarami Reddy joined the YSR Congress party on Sunday. The MP, who had earlier dropped hints that he would be joining Jagan's party, later put it on hold as he reportedly failed to get a definite assurance from YSRC leadership over party ticket to him for Anantapur Lok Sabha seat. However, he has finally decided to sail with the party.
Venkatarami Reddy took membership of YSRC in the presence of party chief Jagan Mohan Reddy at latter's Lotus Pond residence here. Venkatarami Reddy said he had joined Jagan's party as it backed Samaikyandhra from the beginning.
Interestingly, JC Diwakar Reddy and Venkatarami Reddy are likely to end up facing each other in the election for Anantapur Lok Sabha seat on TDP and YSRC tickets respectively.
Meanwhile, industrialist Koneru Prasad also joined YSRC on Sunday in the presence of Jagan. Prasad is expected to contest the Vijayawada Lok Sabha seat.
