TDP lobbying hard to rope in Pawan
Hyderabad: With film actor Pawan Kalyan raring to enter into active politics, the TDP has intensified its efforts to rope the Telugu film actor into the party fold and add filmy glamour to the campaign.
If TDP succeeds in its efforts, Pawan will be the star campaigner for Telugu Desam as Junior NTR and his father N Harikrishna have been keeping away from the party for some time.
Sources said that TDP also wants to see that Pawan does not launch his own political party since these elections are crucial for the TDP and does not want any hurdles in its efforts to come back to power.
The party leadership deputed Ganta Srinivasa Rao to convince Pawan since Rao has been close with Pawan when he was in PRP. Sources said the leaders also convinced that the TDP ideology was similar to Pawan's concept of social justice.
Film actor and TDP leader Balakrishna is also understood to have discussed the party's proposal with Pawan. The two have good relations in the film industry.
