TJAC awaits clarity on TRS-Cong tie-up Hyderabad: More than the party functionaries of TRS and Congress parties, it is the Telangana JAC, which is keenly awaiting a final decision on merger or alliance of both these parties.
With TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao ruling out merger with the Congress, some six to seven JAC leaders are closely following developments that are taking place between both parties for the last few days. Interestingly, Congress party is also trying to lure the TJAC leaders with tickets for elections.
The muhurat for the TJAC members to take a plunge into politics will be decided on the outcome of discussions between the TRS and the Congress. Addanki Dayaker, G Rajender Reddy, Kathi Venkataswamy, Rasamayi Balakishan are among those from the JAC who are nurturing political ambitions.
The TJAC is yet to take a decision though the offer has come from the Congress 10 days ago. Meanwhile, JAC leaders do not want good relations with the TRS to turn sour by switching loyalties towards the Congress party.
TNGO president V Srinivas Goud is not buying the theory of other political aspirants in TJAC since he lobbied hard for Mahabubnagar ticket in the by elections held in the early half of 2012.
However, conditions did not work out in his favor and he could not make a political entry at that time. Nevertheless, with KCR extending an invitation now, he did not waste a moment before agreeing to contest from Mahabubnagar Assembly constituency.
TJAC chairman Prof Kodandaram and TNGO president G Deviprasad were also invited by KCR to contest on TRS party tickets which they declined politely citing JAC commitment towards reconstruction of Telangana.
However, the other key players of JAC are having a different fate with TRS yet to assure them of a berth although hectic parleys are going on. For almost all TJAC leaders, TRS is the most preferred choice although the Congress and BJP have sent clear signals to embrace them with open arms.
TJAC official spokesperson Addanki Dayaker pointed out that the TRS and Congress parties coming together will make their job easy to choose either of both parties according to availability of seats.
Moreover, TRS-Congress jointly would emerge a clear winner in a majority of constituencies in Telangana. Against this backdrop, TJAC members would be willing to accept Congress ticket in case both parties go for an alliance.
