JSP finds no takers on Samaikya home turf VIJAYAWADA: Although former chief minister and president of Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) N Kiran Kumar Reddy roared to stop bifurcation of the state at any cost, it seems he was not prepared for the launch of his party as it did not have an impact on the political landscape of Krishna district, the hot bed of the Samaikyandhra movement.
No important leader from the district, except former Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal, is willing to join the party. A few of Kiran's followers from the Congress have joined the JSP.
Former minister K Parthasarathy is looking at the TDP and YSRC to cement his political future, another former minister Devineni Rajashekar alias Nehru has made it clear that he would not snap ties with the Congress. Both former ministers had maintained good rapport with Kiran when he was the chief minister.
Another senior leader from the Congress and chairman of the Official Language Commission, Mandali Buddhaprasad is also not keen on joining Kiran despite a strong association with the former chief minister.
Although rumours are rife that Buddhaprasad is preparing ground to join the TDP, he has maintained that he is struggling to take a call on quitting the Congress.
A Congress leader said that people will not join the JSP as they think that division is already completed. A city MLA is planning to join the JSP.
