MP Anjan's son assaults constable, flees HYDERABAD: Secunderabad MP Anjan Kumar Yadav's son Aravind Yadav was on Sunday booked for allegedly assaulting a constable. According to the Hussainialam police, Aravind Yadav and his friends thrashed constable G Vamsi after the latter asked him to park his car by the roadside.
The car was apparently parked on the road. The incident took place around 7 p.m. when four constables, including Vamsi, and sub-inspector Jiyauddin were on duty near the MP's residence. Aravind Yadav and his friends were celebrating Holi by setting up a bonfire on the road causing traffic problems.
When asked to remove his car from the road, an irritated Aravind and his group assaulted Vamsi in such a way that the constable fell unconscious. When Vamsi's colleagues sought to bring the situation under control, Aravind threatened them and fled from the spot. Vamsi, who was hospitalised, lodged a complaint alleging that he was brutally assaulted by Aravind.
Based on the complaint, the police registered a case under Section 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the IPC against Aravind Yadav and his friends. One among the group Sandeep was taken into custody.
