YSRCP launches campaign with chants of YSR Hyderabad: CP kicked off its political campaign in Anantapur with chants of resurrecting the golden era of late CM Y S Rajashekara Reddy.Claiming that 'Jagan's victory is people's victory', YCP honorable president Y S Vijayamma on Sunday lashed out at TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu.
Drawing differences of governance during Chandrababu Naidu and YSR's regime, she said, 'YSR stood as an iconic chief minister who changed the course of the state by introducing several welfare schemes that benefitted every section of the society and now N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to reach the people with his hyperbolic and impracticable promises.'
'People of the state had seen the dark age during Chandrababu's tenure as chief minister for nine years where farmers and all other sections of people were left in the lurch and the period after the death of YSR was the same as that of TDP under the rule of former CM Kiran Kumar Reddy who levied huge taxes on people' she said.
Asserting that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy would bring back the golden era of YSR, she said when YSR was the Chief Minister for five years and four months, he had shown to the world that he was farmer-friendly and waived and rescheduled agriculture loans, started mega projects under Jalayagnam, launched Aarogyasri to extend quality treatment to the poor and provided ambulances and now as a true heir, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised that he would launch Amma Vadi scheme, which will take care of the education of two children from each family, increase the old age pension to Rs 700 per month, set up a market stabilization fund which ensures minimum support price to farmers and waive loans of DWACRA groups.
Criticising TDP chief she said Chandrababu Naidu has been promising to waive agriculture loans worth Rs 1.60 lakh cores which are equal to the state's annual budget. It is the Centre that has to waive the loans and not the State.
Further she said Naidu has no record of keeping up his promise as we have seen that the NTR poll promise of Rs 2 per kg rice, subsidized power to farmers and prohibition were pulled out after he took over TDP.
