Naidu hints of alliance with BJP HYDERABAD: Giving credence to reports of possible poll alliance with BJP, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu said he was in the process of forging poll alliance with a party 'through which the interest of both Seemandhra and Telangana states could be safeguarded'.
Speaking after admitting Congress MLA Gummadi Kuthuhalamma, Congress MLC G Thippe Swami and former MLAs B Vardharajulu Reddy and M Venkata Ramana into the party, Naidu said Telugu people are passing through a difficult phase and need a government at the Centre which could help come out of the troublesome situation.
'I am trying for an alliance keeping the interests of Telugu people in mind. We want a government that can help us develop our state,' he remarked.
He said to put pressure on the Centre for funds, we need to have more MP seats and for that all the Telugu people should vote for TDP.
'If we have the numbers, we would decide the fate of the new government at the Centre. We would decide which party to rule the country. We can dictate to the Centre and get more funds,' he remarked.
Indirectly targeting TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and YSR Congress party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu said if the reins of the state are handed over to a few individuals, they would destroy it and hence the people of both the states should think twice before voting for such parties.
'If the two come to power they would loot the states and destroy the future of Telugu people,' he remarked.
Describing TRS as a by poll party, Naidu said it cannot win polls and only capable of winning by polls. 'In 2009 elections, we gave them 45 Assembly seats but they were able to win only 10.
This time too, they are not going to make it big as people of the region will not support them,' he claimed.
Accusing Congress of having secret alliance with YSR Congress, Naidu said voting for YSR Congress was as good as voting for Congress as it was going to join hands with Congress after the polls.
He said the way leaders from different political parties were joining TDP, the day is not far when the party will win all the seats in Kadapa, including Pullivendala, the political seat of YSR family.
He called upon leaders to bury differences and work for the victory of the party. 'Our only aim should be to come to power. We should forget all the difference and work together for the victory of the party,' he asserted.
He said only the TDP has the right to ask votes from the people as it is the only party which worked for the welfare of the people. 'TDP is the only party which could provide a stable government and take up developmental works in both the states,' he claimed.
