Vote Jagan for a welfare state: Sharmila

Kavali (Potti Sriramulu Nellore dist), March 20 (INN): Overcoming all hurdles, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has withstood the dubious designs of Congress and only he can place the State on the development track unlike TDP and Congress that have played divisive politics and were away from the people, YSRCP leader Sharmila has said and appealed to the voters to give a clear mandate which will help the party to get a lion's share from the Centre in terms of welfare and development.

'YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is synonymous to value-based politics and he has crossed all the hurdles created by political adversaries and the rough patch has strengthened his resolve to shape up a welfare state and I appeal to you to pronounce your verdict firmly and decisively which helps in shaping our own future,' she said addressing a public meeting here on Thursday.

Emboldened by the letter given by Chandrababu Naidu, Congress has gone ahead and divided the state meting out injustice to the people of Seemandhra. BJP at the Centre and TDP at the State were equally responsible for the division of the state and cooperating with the high command while YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had met all national leaders to stall the process. He along with YS Vijayamma and 175 party coordinators has gone on fast against the decision.

With the division taking place against our wish, we should have a strong and committed leader like Jagan who will turn a new leaf in the polity of the state and put it on a fast-track development course that would benefit all sections of people.

'Jagan is the need of the hour and I appeal to you to strengthen the Party in the multiple elections starting with municipal, mandal parishad, zilla parishad, assembly and Lok Sabha and teach the Congress and TDP a fitting lesson,' she said.

Other parties will come to lure the voters with promises which they cannot keep and such people should be kept at bay, Sharmila said: 'Chandrababu Naidu has made many promises in the past but never bothered to fulfill them. Coming to the people before elections with a plethora of unfeasible promises and forgetting them with absolute convenience is the old habit of Chandrababu Naidu and this time around it would not be different.'

He has been hopping from town to town lecturing about Singapore, Malaysia and other quixotic measures falling under the 'All Free' category, including loan waiver to farmers. If he had such a will, he should have shown shades of such mercy while he was chief minister for nine years, leave alone implementing the scheme, she said adding that people will not believe as he comes out during electioneering and doles out promises as people got used to his histrionics.

Naidu has no credibility as his past haunts him and his deeds of deceit are still fresh in the minds of the people. He has backstabbed NTR, founder president of TDP, grabbed power and party symbol and thrown his father-in-law out of the Party.

Naidu was on record speaking low of agriculture, propagated that irrigation projects were loss to ex-chequer and subsidies would make people lazy. He has removed subsidised power, hiked power charges eight times in as many years and acted as a World Bank agent.

'If such man comes to people with promises like free power and loan waiver, it sounds strange and the memory of people is not short as they have seen farmers, weavers and others driven to suicides by his corporate governance,' she said.

The contrast between YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and others is wide open and people should vote for YSRCP fan symbol and give the reins of governance to a capable and committed leader,' she said.
