Pawan to discuss poll pact with Modi VISAKHAPATNAM: Giving ground to the speculation that Telugu Desam Party, Bharatiya Janata Party and Jana Sena are joining hands against the Congress, Tollywood actor Pawan Kalyan is scheduled to meet BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad on Friday.
According to sources, Pawan left for Ahmedabad on Thursday. Close aides of Pawan Kalyan told Express that he would be meeting Modi.
Sources further said Pawan will share his thoughts with Modi on developing Telangana and residuary Andhra Pradesh states. The proposed alliance between BJP and Jana Sena Party is also expected to be discussed at the meeting.
However, BJP senior M Venkaiah Naidu said the 'meeting' between Pawan Kalyan and Narendra Modi is only media speculation. So far, no discussions had taken place between the BJP and Jana Sena for an electoral pact, he said.
Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan is gearing up for another meeting, this time in Visakhapatnam. Unlike the 'invitees only' meeting in Hyderabad, he will be addressing the public, most likely at the Indira Priyadarshini Municipal Stadium on March 27. He is also likely to release his much-hyped book 'ISM', which would reveal the policies of his party.
The party is expecting a crowd of over 50,000. Volunteers from various Pawan Kalyan fans' associations across North Coastal and Godavari districts will look after all the arrangements being made for the meeting.
Jana Sena Online Membership Drive on
Jana Sena representative M Raghava Rao told newsmen here that party membership enrollment programme has been launched and interested persons can register their names on the website www.janasenaparty.org.
They should submit their photographs along with online applications. They will get a membership ID card with a number, which can be downloaded and printed.
All the enrolment details will be stored at the party's central office, he said. Enrollment will begin in all the wards under Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation and in the neighbouring districts on Sunday, he said.
