Businesses suffer from Cash seizures by Police Hyderabad, March 23 (INN): A delegation of Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) on Sunday called on Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal and apprised about the difficulties faced by the businessmen in regard to search and seizure of cash.
The delegation comprised of FAPCCI Vice-President Anil Reddy Vennam, Managing Committee Members Hari Govind Prasad and BP Singhal and Past President Suraj Prasad Agarwal.
The delegation lauded the measures being taken by the Election Commission for curbing rampant movement of cash during the election process. However the delegation brought to the notice of CEO that this is causing undue hardship and consternation to the business community at large. For several day to day business transactions, businessmen carry cash either to pay the customers or suppliers or to deposit in banks, the delegation requested the CEO that for such routine business transactions, the process should be smoothened. The delegation requested for devising a methodology wherein genuine transaction of cash in the normal and routine practice in business does not get affected.
Bhanwar Lal assured to look into the matter and informed that he would issue suitable instructions in this regard. He also informed that a separate counter and toll free number would be set up to resolve such problems. He suggested for carrying the proof of carrying cash for hassle free movement of business transactions.
