Despite denial BJP hopes VV will join them HYDERABAD: Despite former CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana denying reports of his joing the BJP, the state unit of the party is making claims that he will be joining it in the next few days.
BJP leaders are claiming that they are in touch with Lakshminarayana and that he will be joining the party soon. 'Efforts are being made to convince Lakshminarayana to join us,' claimed a leader.
Meanwhile, Lakshminarayana, who came to take part in the Lead India programme in the city, emphatically said he was neither interested in politics nor joining any party.
Lakshminarayana became a popular figure when he conducted investigation into sensational cases like the Obulapuram mines scam and Jaganmohan Reddy's illegal assets.
Sources in the state BJP said Lakshminarayana was keen on taking the plunge but was worried about his future. He told BJP leaders that he had to give up his job to join politics and in case he lost the election he would have to face a lot of financial problems as he had no other source of income to take care of his family.
The BJP leadership assured him that all his needs would be taken care of as the party was going to form the government at the Centre. Lakshminarayana is in a dilemma whether to accept the offer or wait for sometime before taking the final call. Another round of talks will take place with Lakshminarayana in a day or two.
