Rally against murder of banker's wife VIJAYAWADA: Demanding stringent action against the culprits who murdered Himabindu, wife of M Sairam, manager of Saptagiri Gramina Bank, employees of various banks took out a rally from Benz Circle to the Police Commissioner's office here Sunday demanding that justice be done swiftly by setting up a fast track court.
Himabindu was brutally murdered on March 15 and her body was found in a canal at Gosala in Penamaluru mandal on March 17.
They submitted a memorandum to DCP (Law and Order) M Ravi Prakash, demanding immediate action against the culprits. Reacting to the plea, the DCP assured them that stern action would be taken against the culprits.
Expressing unhappiness over the investigation so far, branch manager of Saptagiri Gramina Bank G Krishnamurthi, said, 'It was surprising to find the police saying that she was safe till her body was found.'
The bankers, accompanied by their family members, also submitted a copy of the memorandum at the District Collector's camp office in the city.
