Congress to embark on Bus Yatra in Nellore NELLORE: The Congress party's ongoing Bus Yatra would be touring the district on Tuesday. Former minister and Congress manifesto and documentation committee chairman Anam Ramanarayana Reddy claimed that the Bus Yatra being taken up by AP Pradesh Congress Committee to explain the foul game played by TDP, YSRC and BJP with respect to State bifurcation is getting good response from the people.
'The public are aware of what actually had happened and how the opposition parties adopted double standards over the issue,'' he said.
The former minister, who was in Nellore to oversee the arrangements of the Bus Yatra, said that it is not correct to blame the Congress alone for State bifurcation issue as it took the decision in favour of separate Telangana only after it received letters given by TDP and YSRC.
He said that the Congress will never get demoralised as it went through tough times earlier also. 'We will reshuffle the party by inducting new blood into it,'' he said.
He said that Congress will explain its vision to people over bringing new projects like Dugarajapatnam Port, Indian Farmers Fertilisers Corporation (IFFCO) and others through its election manifesto.
Asserting his parties commitment to reconstruction of comprehensive Seemandhra by equally developing 13 districts in the region, he said that in view of gaining valuable advices from public as well as party cadres PCC has decided to organise public opinion programme headed by District Congress Committee (DCC) president Kodavaluru Dhanunjaya Reddy.
In the programme, written opinions will be received up to March 30 and will be sent to AICC for finalising the election manifesto.
Seemandhra PCC president N V Raghuveera Reddy, campaign committee chairman K Chiranjeevi, Union ministers Panabaka Lakshmi, K Kruparani and several other senior leaders of the party would be visiting Nellore on Tuesday and take part in the yatra.
Nellore rural MLA A Vivekanada Reddy, DCC president K Dhanunjaya Reddy, city president C.Narasimha Rao and others were present.
Anam seeks ticket for Atmakur seat
As part of receiving applications from aspirants seeking tickets for both Assembly and Parliament constituencies in the district, several leaders including former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy submitted their applications to the District Congress Committee (DCC) president Kodavaluru Dhanunjaya Reddy at Indira Bhavan here on Monday.
According to Dhanunjaya Reddy, 27 applications were received for 10 assembly segments. Former minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy is seeking the party ticket from Atmakur assembly segment.
He said that 10 applications were received for Nellore city assembly segment and applications will be received up to March 30 at Indira Bhavan. They would later be handed over to the PCC for a final decision.
