Politburo member Cheruku Sudhakar leaves TRS HYDERABAD: TRS politburo member Cheruku Sudhakar, who has been expecting to be fielded for Nakrekal Assembly seat in Nalgonda district, left the party after learning that party chief K Chandrasekhara Rao has someone else in his mind for the seat.
Sudhakar was upset that KCR did not give much importance to the fact that he was with him through thick and thin. Sudhakar played a prominent role in organising demonstrations, rasta-rokos and other forms of protest for Telangana state. He was even arrested and jailed for his acts.
Nakrekal, an SC constituency, is considered a safe bet for TRS because sitting MLA T Lingaiah (Congress) has not been able to have much traction with the people of the constituency. On the other hand, Sudhakar has been nursing the constituency in the hope that he would be fielded from there.
After quitting TRS Sudhakar said in TRS there was no recognition for those who have taken an active role in the Telangana movement. On the other hand, importance is being given to those from the corporate sector.
'I am coming out of the TRS, taking the humiliation as a challenge. I will contest as an independent,' he said, adding that KCR was turning seniors into dummies.
