Congress Bus Yatra evokes poor response Nellore/Tirupati: The Congress party's bus yatra, which covered Nellore and Tirupati on Tuesday, tried to exude confidence among the cadre that the party will bounce back with vigour from a stage where it is even finding it difficult to find candidates in elections.
Though the yatra evoked good response at Nellore but the response to the meeting in Tirupati, where the party's campaign committee chairman K Chiranjeevi was an MLA once, did not evoke much response exposing the fact that there is a dearth of leadership in the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Union minister Panabaka Lakshmi said that Congress is the only party that strove hard for the development of downtrodden by implementing various welfare schemes.
She said that people should be made aware that if they cast their vote in favor of either TDP, YSRC or Jai Samaikhyandra, it would indirectly help BJP to get into power at the Centre.
Another Union minister JD Seelam defended the Congress stand on Telangana and said there was no option for the party as all the opposition parties took a favourable decision on Telangana.
