Telangana is no charity, says KCR HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhara Rao on Wednesday lashed out at Congress leaders for saying that people should support their party because it had delivered Telangana state.
'The Congress did not gift Telangana to people. It was forced to cede Telangana state after several youths had laid down their lives and a prolonged struggle took place,' Chandrasekhara Rao said at a meeting at Telangana Bhavan here.
He said that reconstruction of Telangana is possible only if the TRS comes to power, and therefore, the people should be very vigilant and foil the attempts of other parties. 'We have a vision. If the TRS comes to power, it would be able to build Golden Telangana,' he said.
He came down on Congress leaders for trying to carry out a campaign that it was because of them that Telangana dream has come true. Congress leaders had never taken part in any agitation. They were there serving YSR when the TRS was in the forefornt of the movement, he said.
He singled out TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah and said it was he as irrigation minister had cleared illegal projects of Seemandhra, though proposals for projects in Telangana were waiting on his table for clearance.
