Congress activists oppose ticket to Renuka Chowdhary
Hyderabad, March 29 (INN): Several Congress activists of Khammam district on Saturday staged a protest before the chamber of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president Ponnala Lakshmaiah opposing ticket for Renuka Chowdhary.
The Congress activists alleged that Renuka Chowdhary did not participate in any party activity in the last so many years and therefore, she should not be considered for ticket from Khamma Lok Sabha seat.
They also alleged that Renuka Chowdhary took a stand against Telangana formation and her candidature would cause harm to the party's prospects in the entire Khammam district.
Sources say that the activists were the supporters of former MLA Younus Sultan, who is aspiring for Congress ticket from Khammam Lok Sabha constituency in the ensuing elections.
