Vivek, Vinod, Manda may return to Congress HYDERABAD: Peddapalli MP G Vivek, his brother Vinod and Nagarkurnool Lok Sabha member Manda Jagannath, who are at present in TRS, are likely to return to their parent party, the Congress.
Vivek and Vinod were in Delhi on Saturday which further fuelled speculation that they were doing a prodigal son. This apart, AICC general secretary Digvijaya Singh, when asked about the possibility of the brothers returning to the Congress, did not rule it out.
But Vivek explained that he and his brother were in Delhi on some personal work and the visit had nothing to do with rejoining the Congress.
Vivek, Vinod and Manda joined the TRS frustrated over the delay in formation of Telangana state and fearing that the Congress would be wiped out in Telangana if the issue was allowed to drift. But after they joined the TRS, things began moving quite fast and the Congress finally delivered Telangana.
Of late, Vivek has fallen out with TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao after making comments on 'KCR's family rule' and how he had gone back on his promise of making a Dalit the first chief minister of Telangana state. This apart, Vivek was unhappy at the induction of Putta Madhu into the TRS with an offer of Manthani ticket to him.
Another reason why Vivek is unhappy with the TRS chief is that though he had been seeking Chennur ticket for his brother Vinod, the TRS boss offered Bellampally where chances of winning are not very high as it is a seat held by CPI. This time the CPI will have the backing of the Congress too and Vinod is, therefore, not interested in contesting from Bellampally.
