Jagan vows to fulfill his poll promises VIZIANAGARAM: Reiterating that he will change the course of the state and make his father the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy proud by putting AP on the track of development, YSR Congress president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said if voted to power, he would ensure development and welfare in every household in the next five years.
He urged people to support the party in local body, Assembly and Lok Sabha elections to realise their dream of having a people-friendly government.
Addressing a large gathering at Gajapatinagaram in the district, Jagan claimed that he would put five signatures immediately after swearnig in as chief minister, to fulfil his five poll promises.
'First, to check dropouts, `1,000 would be deposited in mother's account monthly for the education of her two children. Second, old age pension will be raised from `200 to `700. Third, a market stabilisation fund will be set up to help farmers sell their produce for profit. Fourth, loans of DWCRA groups will be waived.'
Jagan said his fifth signature would be to bring governance to the doorsteps of people. In every village, a fully equipped office would be set up to issue ration cards, pension cards, house pattas, and other documents on the spot, he said.
Explaining his long-term plans, Jagan promised to build four sea ports, apart from promoting industrialisation on to generate employment.
'Creation of a capital city with better infrastructure than the existing one (read Hyderabad) which people have been deprived of, would be given utmost importance,' he added.
Jagan promised to continue the legacy of his father and build 10 lakh houses per year. He promised to change the state within 10 years for which he asked the people to elect YSRC candidates as MPs and MLAs to bring pressure on the Centre for timely sanctioning of funds.
