Bajireddy likely to join TRS today HYDERABAD: The only prominent leader of the YSRC in Telangana, Bajireddy Govardhan, has decided to join the TRS only to test his luck in the ensuing general polls from Nizamabad Rural Assembly segment.
According to TRS sources, Govardhan, who is maintaining distance with the YSRC leadership for the last few months because of the U-turn made by it on the T-issue, will be joining the pink party in the presence of party chief K Chandraskhar Rao on Friday.
It is learnt that TRS chief Rao is planning to field Govardhan from the Nizamabad Rural Assembly segment against Congress heavyweight D Srinivas, former PCC chief.
After blowing hot and cold about either joining the Congress or the TRS all these days, Govardhan Reddy has finally made up his mind to jump onto the TRS bandwagon.
Reddy was a Congress MLA between 2004-09 from Banswada segment in Nizamabad. He was defeated by his TDP rival and former minister Pocharam Srinivas Reddy in 2009 Assembly elections.
Bajireddy was an ardent follower of former chief minister the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. With the blessings of YSR, he was elected twice to the Assembly. When YSR's son YS Jaganmohan Reddy formed YRSC, he sided with him and remained with him even after that party took the anti-bifurcation stand.
