Seemandhra Cong launches Dalit bus yatra Hyderabad, April 4 (INN): After taking up bus yatra in Seemandhra region last month, the Seemandhra Congress leaders on Friday launched another bus yatra to attract the SC and ST voters.
The Dalit-Girijian bus yatra was flagged off by APCC President Dr N Raghuveera Reddy at Indira Bhavan here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State Jesu Das Seelam informed that the bus-yatra would cover all 13 districts of coastal Andhra and Rayalaseem.
He said that the bus yatra has been aimed at creating awareness among the SCs and STs about the steps taken by the Congress Governments in the Centre and State for their welfare.
Seelam hoped that the bus yatra would help in strengthening the party's ties with the SCs and STs. He said only Congress party could ensure social justice for the weaker sections and the appointment of BC leaders as PCC Presidents was a proof for the same. He assured that the Congress party would make a Dalit the next chief minister of Seemandhra region if voted to power.
