Lokesh to begin road shows on April 12 HYDERABAD: After blowing hot and cold over campaigning for his party, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu's son Lokesh seems to have decided to play an active role in the party by canvassing for the general polls.
The Stanford-educated businessman, who had cancelled his cycle yatra which was planned earlier, has now decided to contribute his bit to his party during poll campaign by trying to woo youngsters and fist-time voters to his party side.
As part of this decision, Lokesh is understood to have decided to kick-start his campaign from Krishna district on April 12. Starting from there, the young politico might tour Seemandhra and Telangana regions in a phased manner.
'Though the TDP chief had earlier decided to keep Lokesh out of the poll campaign, he has now changed his decision. He wants his son to address meetings of youngsters from IT and various key sectors so as to woo the young voters into the partyfold,' a source said.
According to sources, as Naidu feels that first-time voters are not aware of the work he had done to the state during his 9-year regime, he wants some young leaders to campaign for the party to recall his efforts for the growth of the IT sector in the state. Hence, the TDP chief seems to have decided to allow his son to take up canvassing for the party.
In fact, the young politico wanted to undertake cycle yatra from Hindupur in Anantapur district from February 16 to motivate the party cadres and improve Naidu's image among youngsters.
However, Lokesh had put off his yatra following the process of division of the state at that time, thinking that he would face trouble during his yatra in both the regions.
