BJP will finish TDP in Telangana: MIM HYDERABAD: Taking exception to TDP joining hands with BJP, MIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has said that the yellow party will pay heavily for its decision to sail with the saffron party in the ensuing polls and will be wiped out in Telangana forever.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Owaisi said that the TDP let down the people by joining hands with a communal party. 'I am surprised that a person like Chandrababu Naidu, who served as chief minister for nine years, decided to join hands with the saffron party. The TDP chief is digging his and his party's grave. The BJP will finish the TDP in Telangana', he remarked.
He said that Naidu had paid heavily for joining hands with BJP in the past but he did not learn any lesson and went ahead and forged alliance with that party for poll gain.
'People of the both the states will teach both TDP and BJP a lesson in the ensuing polls,' he claimed and said, 'We will use all means to stop the BJP from coming to power.'
On joining hands with YSR Congress in Rayalaseema, the MIM chief said that his party was not keen on joining hands with that party. 'We have not received any such proposal from that party and if they contact us we will consider it. As of now we are fighting the polls alone,' he said.
Describing former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy as a true friend of the minorities, Owaisi said that the late leader had done a lot for the welfare of minorities.
'YSR was a true secular leader who cared for the welfare of the minorities. It was due to his efforts that Muslims got 4 percent reservation in jobs and education in the state. We do not know much about his son and YSRC chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
I do not know whether he would be able live up to the expectations of the people.People are supporting him for the work his father has done for the people of the state. We have to wait and see.'
Justifying his party's decision to expand its base in Telangana and Rayalaseema, the MIM chief said that they were contesting polls outside Hyderabad keeping in mind long term goals and to reach out to nook and corner of both the states. He said that his party would try to contest all those seats in both Telangana and Rayalaseema where ever it has sizable presence.
'We plan to contest Secunderabad, Zaheerabad and Nizamabad Lok Sabha seats along with Malkajgiri, Nandyal and Hyderabad,' he said.
