MP Sai Prathap to return to Congress fold HYDERABAD: Rajampet MP Annayyagari Sai Prathap, a close aide of Jai Samaikyandhra Party (JSP) chief N Kiran Kumar Reddy, is learnt to have decided to return to the Congress.
Former minister K Parthasaradhi, another confidant of Kiran, is learnt to have decided to join the YSRC.
According to sources, AICC state affairs incharge Digvijaya Singh on Sunday morning rang up Sai Pratap and asked him to visit Delhi by Monday to take a decision on his reentry.
Sai Prathap had earlier planned to join the TDP. But, the latest electoral understanding between Telugu Desam and BJP has upset his plans as the TDP leadership has allotted Rajampet Lok Sabha seat to the BJP.
After learning about Sai Pratap's dilemma over his future political course, Digvijaya Singh and some senior Congress leaders from Seemandhra are said to have begun persuading him to come back to the Congress.
In all probability, Sai Pratap will rejoin the Congress to contest the Rajampet Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing general elections.
Sai Prathap was expelled from the Congress when he, along with some other MPs from Seemandhra, had tried to obstruct the T-bill in Parliament.
Meanwhile, the AICC state affairs incharge is also trying to woo back some other Congress leaders who had joined other parties.
According to sources, Digvijaya recently called up another expelled Congress MP GV Harsha Kumar and invited him back to the party.
