Raghuveera to contest from Penukonda ANANTAPUR: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president N Raghuveera Reddy, who is now representing the Kalyanadurgam constituency, will contest from Penukonda constituency. Addressing the party functionaries at Penukonda, he maintained that he took the decision succumbing to the wishes of the people of Penukonda constituency.
'The people sought me to represent them to develop the constituency on the lines of Madakasira and Kalyanadurgam, which were represented by me during the past decade. Though the people of Kalyanadurgam are against my shifting to Penukonda, I decided to contest from Penukonda constituency in 2014 polls,' he announced.
Saying that he will file his nomination papers on April 16, he wanted all the party activists to attend the event. Meanwhile, the APCC chief announced K Sudhakar as the Congress candidate from the Madakasira SC reserved constituency in the district.
