Guntur TDP office ransacked over denial of ticket GUNTUR: Protesting over the reported denial of the MLA ticket to TDP district Telugu Yuvata president Abburi Shiva Nagamalleswara Rao aka Malli from Sattenapalli assembly constituency, some followers of Malli have attacked the TDP office in the city and ransacked the furniture.
The activists barged into the TDP office and smashed glass doors and broke furniture. They also raised slogans against the district and state leaders for denying ticket to Malli. Mild tension prevailed for sometime. However, the police pacified the irate activists.
Telugu Yuvata president Nagamalleswara Rao told newsmen that he was aspiring for Sattenapalli ticket. He claimed that he had striven hard to strengthen the party for the last five years.
Under the seat-sharing agreement with the BJP, Narasaraopet assembly seat was allocated to the BJP. The TDP senior leader Kodela Sivaprasad, who had won earlier from Narasaraopet, was allocated Sattenapalli constituency. Malli said that he had got raw deal by the TDP leadership.
Meanwhile, TDP district president Prattipati Pulla Rao said that they would issue showcause notices to those who were present at the office during the attack and initiate action against them after the reply.
However, police have said that they had not received any complaint with regard to the attack on the TDP office.
