Congress Seemandhra list will be out soon HYDERABAD: With the filing of nominations over in Telangana, the AICC high command has begun the process of finalising its candidates for Seemandhra, for which poll notification is expected on April 12.
As a part of this exercise, the AICC screening committee, which picks up Congress candidates for the ensuing general polls, is likely to meet in Delhi on Friday to finalise the first list of party candidates for Seemandhra. Friday's meeting will be attended by Digvijaya Singh, secretary Vayalar Ravi and other top leaders of the AICC.
Ahead of this, Andhra PCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, Union minister K Chiranjeevi who is also heading the APCC campaign committee and other seniors from Seemandhra such as Anam Ramanarayana Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana held a marathon meeting at the residence of Chiranjeevi here on Thursday.
During the lengthy meeting, the leaders are learnt to have discussed the probable names to be included in the list of candidates for the Assembly and Lok Sabha polls, which they would be submitting to their Delhi bosses on Friday.
Raghuveera Reddy said they had identified candidates for 150 Assembly seats and the remaining would be selected by Friday. He said they had picked candidates for over 20 LS seats.
