Nara Lokesh tries to spin NTR magic VIJAYAWADA: Nara Lokesh, son of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu, has called upon the voters to trounce both Congress and 'Pilla Congress' (YSR Congress) in the ensuing Assembly and General Elections. He sought the blessings of the people of Nimmakuru for his success in politics.
Lokesh kick-started his election campaign named 'Yuva Prabhanjana Yatra' from Nimmakunru, the birthplace of NT Rama Rao, founder of TDP and former chief minister. He garlanded the statues of his grandparents NT Rama Rao and Basava Tarakam. Lokesh's wife Brahmani and mother Bhuvaneswari accompanied him during the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said, 'You had sent Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao to the state who created a 'Telugu sensation' in a short span of time by defeating the Congress. We have the same opportunity now to defeat the Congress and 'Pilla Congress' (YSRC) with a huge majority.'
Stressing the need for development along with welfare, he said that the aim of the 'yatra' was to explain the development and welfare schemes to be adopted in the next five years and offer them to the youth. He also said that TDP was the only party that is able to make Andhra Pradesh a `Navyandhra Pradesh' and Telangana, a 'Samajika Telangana'.
Earlier, Lokesh was given a warm reception at the Gannavaram Airport by the party leaders.
Party leaders including, Machilipatnam MP Konakalla Narayana Rao, TDP district president and MLA Devineni Uamaheswara Rao, Pammarru MLA candidate Varla Ramaiah and Vallabhaneni Vamshimohan took part in the road show.
