We will move to new capital ASAP: Jagan HYDERABAD: YSR Congress president Jagan Mohan Reddy on Sunday said if his party is voted to power in Seemandhra, it would move to the new capital as early as possible. Jagan also said he would give 'corruption-free' governance.
Speaking to reporters after releasing the manifestos for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh at party office, Jagan said: 'Capital in Hyderabad and the State around 180 km away will look awkward. We will move to new capital city as early as possible.'
The new capital city would be far better than Hyderabad and it would compete with Washington DC, he said. He, however, did not specify where the capital would be located.
'The Central government committee has to give its suggestions. Visakhapatnam is polluted. No big doctors or industrialists will agree to live in Tirupati. The new capital city will be centrally located in AP. It requires a large extent of land and plenty of water,' Jagan added.
Jagan had already held three sittings with multinational company Accenture for the strategy to be adopted for developing the capital city.
Jagan said he would give corruption-free governance with high degree of transparency. 'Some media houses made false allegations against YS Rajasekhara Reddy. I will give no room for such allegations.
I will directly go to the High Court and the CAG and submit the tenders. I will request them to dispose the files speedily. Then, I we will implement the same. I will work as per the directions given by the HC and CAG.
If any one levels allegations afterwards, the HC should take them as contempt of court and register cases against such persons or media houses,' Jagan said.
Gen X Leader
Jagan claimed that he is 'generation next' leader. 'Chandrababu Naidu has generation gap. Naidu's age is 65. I am 25 years younger than him. I am a Gen X leader. I visited places which were never seen by Naidu and witnessed poverty. I will deliver better administration than Naidu,' Jagan said.
Jagan alleged that it was a habit for Naidu to make false promises. 'Naidu assured to waive `1.27 lakh crore farm loans. YSRC will not make such false promises. We will not waive farm loans. But, make agriculture viable by providing facilities like soil testing and others to farmers,' Jagan said.
TWO separate MANIFESTOS
In AP manifesto, the YSRC stated that bifurcation of the state was taken up without any rationale. The Centre violated all conventions. It was against federal spirit. While dividing the State, the Centre had to assess the financialfinancial situation. But, it failed to do so.
As a result, AP would start with `15,000 crore revenue deficit. The T-manifesto said Telangana was formed as the 29th state in the country. The T-state will have 1.15 lakh sq km area with a population of 3.52 crore.
Telangana was backward as there were no irrigation facilities. Telangana was developed during YS Rajasekhara Reddy regime. The development which was concentrated in Hyderabad had to expanded to other districts in the region. YSRC would develop an industrial corridor from Hyderabad to Machilipatnam for port connectivity.
