TJAC yet to decide on backing parties HYDERABAD: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) postponed its decision to April 18 on whether to support any political party in the coming Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
The TJAC meeting held here on Monday, under the chairmanship of its chairman Prof M Kodandaram, could not take any decision on the issue. The meeting examined the manifestos of various political parties and decided to send the TJAC's agenda for the elections to the political parties once again.
The support of the TJAC, which had played a key role in the Telangana movement, will be advantageous to any political party in the coming elections.
Significantly, the TJAC has already branded Konda Surekha, P Mahender Reddy and some other leaders as Telagana betrayers/traitors. Surekha and Reddy recently defected to the TRS from the Congress and the TDP respectively.
Meanwhile, Kodandaram announced a new committee for TJAC. The committee will comprise: TJAC Co-chairman C Vithal, Convenor G Deviprasad Rao, Spokespersons Raghu, P Ravinder and Hamid Mohammad Khan, Co-conveners Venaktesam, Prahlad, Jnaneswar, Venkat Reddy and Danakarna Chari.
