TDP copying YSR schemes, alleges Sharmila KHAMMAM: YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) leader Sharmila has said that Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu has no right to ask for the votes of farmers as he had said that agriculture was a useless occupation.
Addressing a public meeting as a part of the election campaign at Paloncha town in Khammam district Monday, she alleged that Naidu was trying to copy the schemes implemented by former chief minister late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
She said when Rajasekhara Reddy had made an assurance of free power to farmers, Naidu had ridiculed the decision and faulted loan waiver extended to farmers in the state. She wondered why Naidu was now promising free power and loan waiver to farmers.
Sharmila alleged that Naidu was notorious for lies and backstabbing. 'The people know very well how he deceived his father-in-law NTR. Babu doesn't believe in keeping his word so he always cheats people,' she alleged.
She also said that Naidu does not have respect for the people of the Minority community, a fact that has been proved by his alliance with BJP.
Criticising the Congress party, she said Rajasekhara Reddy had brought the Congress party to power in 2009 with his hard work but later on the leaders who ruled the state failed to implement the welfare schemes in the state. Sharmila appealed to the electors to vote for YSRCP candidates to achieve Rajanna Rajyam.
Khammam Lok Sabha candidate Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy and other leaders participated in the meeting. Sharmila visited Manchukonda, Kamepally, Yellandu and Tekulapally villages Monday.
